Cloth Diaper FAQ

How many times of urine it can absorb?
Good Question! This question is simple but not easy to answer. First of all, every baby is different, thus the volume of their urine is different. That’s y Coolababy comes with 2 different thickness of inserts (2 & 3 layers) to suit for your baby’s need. We advise that the guardian of baby changes the insert every time he/she feels the insert is wet.

How many pieces do I need to buy if I want to fully using cloth diapers?
Usually, you will need 12 pcs. At least you will need 6-8 pcs. However, it’s advisable to have 10-12 pcs.

Do I need buy any other item after I purchase the cloth diapers for additional features (if there is any)?
No need. The original cloth diaper comes with 2 pcs of 3 layers inserts. You can buy additional inserts with us or with any other sellers.

Is the cloth diaper thick?
Yes. The cloth diaper is a bit thick but this is for better absorbency and longer hour usage.

What is the difference between disposable diapers & cloth diapers?
Everyone knows the benefits of disposable diapers. However, the disadvantages of using disposable diapers are not economic, expensive, bad breathability, not comfortable for baby, easy to cause dermatitis, not environmental friendly, not re-usable.
Cloth diapers have better breathability, reusable, no chemical, more economical, longer usage time with button / tape designs and save a lot of money. However, you will need to wash the cloth diapers.

Will my baby feel dry wearing the cloth diaper made of microfleece lining?
Yes. Microcfleece got the wicking ability. That's mean that it can wick the moisture pass through the insert, but the fleece itself will be dry. Solid waste will rolled out the fleece easily and can be wash easily also.

Do I need to soak the diaper a few hours before washing?  Any special care needed?

No you don't have too. You can give it a bit scrub with soap, and then leave it and wash it when you are ready. It doesn't need to be wash immediately. You can collect all the used diaper for the day, soak with clean water and wash it at night or the next morning in the washing machine / hand wash.  Pls take note that do not dry the pocket diapers directly under sunlight as it will spoilt the PUL fabric.  Hang dry the pocket diapers under in your corridor or balcony (avoid direct sunlight) as they will dry easily.  Hang dry inserts directly under sunlight as they are thicker and more difficult to become dry.

Can I put extra insert on the pocket diaper to be more absorbent?
Yes, you can. That's they beauty of Pocket diaper. You can customized the inserts. If your baby is a heavy weater, then you can use the two inserts for night. Or else, the regular inserts made out of microfiber is sufficient for the day. However, it's not advisable to do so as when you put 2 inserts at the same time, the diaper will become too thick and it may have leakage.  It will be too bulky and make baby feel uncomfortable.

For night use, how long it can last?
Should last you for 10-12 hours without change, with 2-3 inserts. Comparatively, it should be equivalent to one Mamy Poko disposable diaper. You will need to change the baby in the morning.  However, if your baby does wake up in the mid night to drink milk, you may change the inserts for your baby in order to make your baby feel more comfortable rather than putting 2-3 inserts at the same time.

How long can the diaper last?
If you follow the wash and  care instruction, it should last you more than 1 kid, meaning that if you cloth diaper your first child for 2 years, the same diaper can be worn for the following and following childs.

How to make your snap/button cloth diaper more papa-friendly for wriggle baby?
Many parents dread not to choose snap simply because snap diaper is said to be "difficult" for wriggle baby. This appear even harder for Daddy or Grandparents who are not so familiar with cloth diaper too. Well, as matter of fact, actually wearing wriggle baby with snap diaper is really EASY...just snap on the left side of the diaper before your wear your baby, then slot in your baby left leg in it just like he is wearing pant, then only snap on the right side. The whole process is like wearing pants.  Alternatively, you can choose the velcro type which is easier to wear especially for Grandparents.
